Two
members Ark1p and Prk1p first recognised in the budding yeast Saccharomyces
cerevisiae (Cope
et al, 1999)
to regulate the actin cytoskeleton by direct association. Both Ark1p and Prk1p
are localized to the cortical actin patches and Prk1p is known to phosphorylate
Ent1p - the yeast epsin (an actin bundling protein) homolog (Watson
et al, 2001).
Prk1p and epsin are implicated in a role in endocytosis
(Watson et al,
2001).
