A
116 Kda protein from Dictyostelium discoideum that was found to be
homologous to Acan 125, a previously identified binding partner of Myosin I from
Acanthamoeba castellanii (Xu
et al, 1995). CARMIL binds a number of partners including the
Arp2/3 complex, capZ protein, and Myosin I. The sequence contains a
verprolin (WISP) like G-actin binding like motif (GRDALLGDIRKGMKLKKAETNDRSAPIV),
although actual actin binding has yet to be demonstrated.
