A
series of poorly characterized filament gelation proteins isolated from Acanthamoeba
castellanii of low molecular weight. Gelactin I is a monomer at 23kd, the
others, II, III, IV are dimers of 28, 32 and 38kd (Maruta
& Korn, 1977). The later two may be related
to a 36 kd dimeric protein from Physarum.
None of these are calcium sensitive.
