A
Caenorhabditis elegans actin bundling protein from the body wall muscle (Kranewitter
et al, 2001).
The organization of the gene is odd in that it contains 7 calponin repeats but
not that part of calponin that binds actin and is found in other ABPs, a-actinin,
dystrophin and spectrin. The bundles are tight resembling that formed by
fascin. A similar gene has been identified in another nematode, Oncocerca
volvulus (Irvine
et al, 1994).
