This
amoeba is probably not a naked amoeba but is included here as is
resembles other naked amoeba at the level of the light microscope.
At the E.M. a cuticle is observed similar to Trichospherium.
In morphology and locomotive habit, Gocevia resembles flabelate
forms such as Vannella and Platypoda, except that the
hyaline lamella totally surrounds the central cytoplamsic mass.
The cell glides forward without obvious change in cell shape. The
amoeba shown in the figure is from a freshwater pond in S.E. Scotland.
