At
least one isoform of PAK is known to bind actin directly (Cau
et al, 2001). PAKs are kinases that
are activated by the GTPases Rac and Cdc42. Once bound to activated GTPases, the
complex becomes autophosphorylate and goes on to phosphorylate other substrates
such as LIMKinase. LIMKinase then phosphorylates ADF/cofilin.
