A
member of the ERM (Ezrin, Radixin, Moesin) group of proteins (see ERM
page) whose C terminal
half (approximately) is homologous to the membrane associated region of
the band 4.1 super-family (Fig 1a). Ezrin associates with a number of
membranous proteins such as CD44, CD43 at the cytoplasmic face of the
plasma-membrane. It is especially abundant in the placenta.
